We went in and heard all about IVF, watched a powerpoint, saw diagrams, saw how needles are used and many other things that overwhelmed us like crazy!!!! We were given a list of preliminary tests prior to IVF treatments. We had 1 appointment to sign all consent forms, 1 appointment to pay a ton of money insurance doesn't pay (we are very fortunate to have a lot of coverage though!) and 1 appointment for a "mock transfer." The mock transfer was a pretend embryo transfer to basically make a "road map" of my uterus to make sure they know exactly what they're doing on the day they transfer my actual embryo! This was exciting yet very hard. I was instructed to drink 2 bottles of water 1 hour before coming into the office....holy moly I couldn't talk, sit down or stand still! The entire procedure took MAYBE 10 minutes, but to me, it felt like forever and I kept telling the technician I was about to pee right on her! The procedure was over and they allowed me to run right to the bathroom.....best time in the bathroom EVER!!!! They said the transfer was perfect and they did not see any obstructions or anything that would make a transfer difficult....this was great news!
